Clara joined our wonderful FP&A Team based out of Nazareth, Belgium early in 2022. Below she shares with us some insights into the function and what she enjoys most about working at Perrigo! Can you tell me a little bit about your team? It’s been 8 months since I joined Perrigo and the central FP&A team. We are a team of six enthusiastic colleagues. Key driver of working in the central FP&A team means to gain and share key business insights. We are continuously improving our reporting to provide management the best business steering tools. We also play a vital role in business partnering with different departments (sales, R&D, marketing, quality,…) which enables you to be involved in multiple organisational changes/implementations from a finance perspective. Never a dull moment. Not only cross functional but cross country as well, we are able to leave our mark.
Fun fact: I got to Perrigo throughout a spontaneous application!
Does working in this environment differ from your previous experience? If so, then how? Definitely! As an ex-Big Four employee, it is eye-opening to deep dive into the core business and to gain various types of in-house knowledge. Having audited multiple companies in several industries, I can confirm the team spirit at Perrigo is at its best!
How would you describe the culture here? Perrigo has a great entrepreneurial spirit. Besides the international teams we work with and open-minded colleagues, all employees carry the Perrigo values closely and are keen on “making lives better by bringing quality, affordable self-care products that consumers trust everywhere they are sold”.
How would you describe the leadership style within the FP&A function? Management is very supportive and approachable, giving you the opportunity to actively work out your ideas and prove the added-value of your creative mindset. They care about employees and will help you realise your aspirations. You are allowed to work in a flexible manner, giving you the opportunity to create your best fit work-life balance.
You are looking for a new colleague – FP&A Analyst - What can a prospective employee expect when joining this role and function? Besides a great onboarding experience and daily supply of cappuccinos, Perrigo offers lots of opportunities to develop yourself and grow in your role. You will play a crucial role in the yearly and quarterly (Flex) budgeting process.
What do you think someone needs, to be successful within this role? An FP&A Analyst should be analytically strong with a hands-on mindset. Being agile, accountable, and a good communicator is key. Problem-solving and decision-making skills combined with passionate Excel-skills will bring your far along. We are actively working on data management with focus on accuracy and precision, whilst keeping the helicopter view on all of our projects.
What is your favourite thing about being part of FP&A? The continuous learning! I am non-stop growing and building on my business knowledge. The appreciation from management when you go the extra mile and the super team spirit within the central FP&A team, is why I’d 100% recommend working at Perrigo! And did I mention yet the daily cappuccino’s?… 😊
