Tell me a little about working within procurement? Our Team work to continuously improve the value for our stakeholder network by collaborating with various teams on an ongoing basis and supporting their plans relating to third-party spend. No two days are the same and that is exactly how I like it! The past 3 years has given our Team the opportunity to support the business by building spend strategies for each of the categories, while delivering value for the local business stakeholders, and ensuring that we have robust contracts which mitigate any potential risk exposure to protect Perrigo.

What stands out about working at Perrigo? I would have to say the genuine positivity and team spirit both in the Dublin office and across the regional teams. There is an energy that is reflected in the day-to-day engagements with stakeholders and colleagues. The people are great, and we always manage to have fun throughout the working day.

What has been your favourite aspect about working at Perrigo so far? The role is very diverse and there are always opportunities to be involved in exciting projects and deliver real value to the business. We have a great Leadership Team and get the opportunity to contribute as well as learn as we participate in those projects.

How did you find the transition into Procurement within Perrigo? Every industry has its learning curve, and every organisation has different approaches to procurement. However, in the indirect space, there are a lot of things that are the same regardless of industry. So, from a role perspective, there wasn’t much of a transition period. The great thing about the onboarding process in Perrigo, is that everyone is open and supportive in providing the information needed to allow me to be effective at my job. So, I would say that I felt very settled here very quickly!

What are the opportunities for progression within Perrigo? There is a tangible investment in people progression within Perrigo. If you are keen to succeed there are many opportunities to progress your career and the Leadership Teams spend time mapping the success of each individual through their performance reviews and consultation with each individual. Our continuous improvement roadmap presents a steady flow of opportunities for progression.

How would you describe your managerial style? During my career I have led teams in various roles and I really enjoy managing people. I always aim to be democratic and supportive in my approach. I'd definitely describe myself as a coaching leader - it's really important to me that I set my team up for success and support them in developing their abilities. I also have my own mentors and coaches who I work with to continuously improve on my own knowledge and working style. It allows me to take constructive feedback and turn that into improvements and tweaks as to how I approach my own role.
