Danielle Allen is a Quality Assurance Associate based at our International HQ in Dublin, Ireland. Danielle joined Perrigo over 3 year's ago and below she shares some insights into the location!
Can you tell me a bit about the Dublin location? The Dublin Office is still relatively new with a really nice design. The onsite gym is a great feature (although I have only been there once myself!!) The kitchen area on the 5th floor has great views over the city and Dublin mountains which is really nice to enjoy during your break!
Tell me about your commute to work? I use public transport mainly as the office is so easy to get to! The bus stop isn’t too far from the building. Lots of the team have started to cycle in too which is great to see!
What is a typical day like when in the office? The day starts with the usual check of the QA inbox for queries/ongoing tasks. My team is quite small (5 of us!), and we have regular weekly team meetings to discuss KPIs and outstanding actions. There’s lots of interactions with colleagues in the UK, Belgium and the US. We have lots of new product launches in the pipeline which ensures constant weekly communication with other teams across Perrigo, so you get to see a wide range of expertise across the business!
What’s your typical lunchtime spot? The 5th floor kitchen mainly and I would often go to nearby places and bring food back. The sushi restaurant across the road is my favourite! There’s also normally complimentary fruit, bread, jams, popcorn etc in the 5th floor canteen (courtesy of Lisa!!)
What are the development opportunities at Perrigo Dublin? Lots of opportunities for development as there are so many cross-functional teams! You’re not restricted due to location as we’re global/virtual in nature which worked in our favour especially at the very start of the Covid pandemic!
How would you describe the leadership style? Very supportive and encouraging! We have regular 1:1s and performance reviews and there is so much scope for development. We have excellent leaders who bring a wealth of knowledge to help you in your career but who also have trust in your abilities/contribution!
Do you prefer to work from home or in the office? Both! We really adjusted well to virtual working through daily team meetings and prioritising workload at the start of the pandemic! We still do this but we can now meet in person in the office for in person collaboration. It’s the best of both worlds!
Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion is major focus for Perrigo. We believe that by acknowledging and embracing our different backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences, we become even more aware of our unique consumer needs. TOGETHER, we make lives better.
What does DEI mean to you? It's very important especially within a company like Perrigo which has such a global reach. The organisation is kept up-to-date on upcoming D&I events and we often have Zoom/Webex calls on a given topic for awareness…
Have you been involved in any DEI initiatives? Perrigo brings awareness to various topics around D&I - it's built into the company fabric so to speak. There is always something at play and I've supported many colleagues as they aim to highlight topics such as mental health awareness through events such as Movember. I was also involved with Tough Mudder for Bumbleance which is a great charity for sick children! This would mainly be for children with additional needs or sensory issues, Bumblebance aims to make their hospital trips more comfortable!
We are always looking for passionate, dedicated people to join our teams at Perrigo. Take your next career step today and check out our live vacancies!
