Lacy Farris is an Associate Account Manager based in Allegan, Michigan. Lacy has been with Perrigo for over 11 years and below she shares some insights into her career journey so far!
How long have you worked here? Can you tell us more about your role and background? I started working at Perrigo as an intern in the Sales department immediately after receiving my BBA from Northwood University in 2011. Over the last 11 years at Perrigo, I have worked in various departments to help me not only broaden my knowledge of the company and its processes, but to build relationships within each department that I will continue to foster and carry with me long term throughout my career.
What made you decide to join Perrigo? Following graduation, Perrigo was my first choice to kickstart my career. It was evident I would be working for a company that would help unlock my potential and give me a platform to cultivate career growth and continuous learning.
How has your career progressed since you joined Perrigo? I joined Perrigo as an intern in the Sales department and immediately knew that this was the area I wanted to spend the bulk of my career. I also wanted to take the opportunity early on to gain as much experience in other departments as possible. This led me to take on a role in the IT department where I was able to work closely with the Project Management team and learn a variety of skills that would carry into other roles at Perrigo. I then found my way back to Sales Operations as an Account Support Representative (ASR). This not only enhanced my passion for CPG sales but allowed for continuous education of Perrigo’s growing Product Portfolio. Following my 4 years as an ASR I worked in Customer Service as an Account Manager for a top 5 Store Brand account. Working in this position gave me the opportunity to strengthen my communication skills and grow my knowledge of the Perrigo Supply Chain to truly understand the base of our business. I now work as a Contract Sales Account Manager on one of the top earning Contract accounts. In the next five years I hope to continue to grow my skillset in the sales department and work towards an Account Executive position.
What keeps you at Perrigo? There are so many reasons why I stay at Perrigo! I have built lifelong friendships with the people due to the culture of trust, humility, and compassion that Perrigo encompasses. I am confident my journey at Perrigo will continue to be rewarding, as Perrigo creates an atmosphere that cultivates career growth and stimulates continuous learning and peak performance. I also enjoy the flexibility Perrigo offers. As a mother of 3 boys, my personal life can be chaotic at times. Perrigo provides incredible work-life balance that is unparalleled for a company this size.
What is your favourite part of your role? I enjoy building relationships with my customers and sharing Perrigo’s vision to make lives better by bringing quality, affordable, self-care products that consumers trust everywhere they are sold.
